Mission Statement

The mission of the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency is to provide economic benefit to Washington County by attracting overnight and day visitors. This mission is to be accomplished through specific programs of promotion, and provision of developmental assistance for local tourism businesses, attractions, and events. We are the lead agency in undertaking programs aimed at the future growth of tourism in Washington County, and through that enhancing the quality of life.

The agency is managed by an Executive Director with oversight by the Board of Directors appointed by the Washington County Commissioners.

The Agency is funded by:
- Local hotel room tax
- Support from members
- A Matching Fund Grant from the Commonwealth of PA
- Festivals and special events
