Downtown Washington is kicking off the holiday season in a big way with all things festive and LOCAL! You can find something for everyone on your list and have a great time while you’re here!
Keep reading to get the scoop on our Small Business Saturday this Nov. 27th, and support local throughout the entire season!
Starting at 9 am on Nov. 27th, the downtown district will be offering their finest specialties during a breakfast crawl. Make sure to check in at the main pavilion for your breakfast passport!! Anyone who completes all 10 stops will be able to enter a raffle for one of the many giveaway baskets!
This event is definitely not just for grown ups! This year, Small Business Saturday will include a children’s area in the pavilion on Main Street. Kids of all ages will get to decorate cookies, make their own reindeer food, and watch a puppet show!
The Festival of trees is back and bigger than ever. Sixteen local downtown businesses are hosting Christmas trees from various charities and patrons can “vote" on their favorite ones! In addition, there will be carriage rides throughout the downtown area, giving a nostalgic glimpse into the hustle and bustle of the day! Swing by the Bradford House Museum for a free tour while you're in town. Lastly, don’t forget to enter the gingerbread house making contest! Winners will be chosen in two categories, children and adults. The gingerbread houses will be on display during the parade at the George Washington Hotel.
In addition to the events downtown, Small Business Saturday is partnering with Washington & Jefferson College’s Ignite Business Incubator. Their event open to the public and is taking place at their location at 57 E Chestnut St, Washington. Stop by to see local vendors showcasing a variety of products!
Starting at 4 pm, Liberty Pole Distillery is hosting a gourmet dinner bowl meal catered by Rolands. When the sun goes down, stick around for the lighting of the Christmas tree on City Hall’s front lawn. Ornaments from the tree will be decorated by children that morning at the Small Business Saturday children’s pavilion.
