With the first warm spell of the year also comes the itch to get out of hibernation. The temperatures are SLOWLY creeping up, and what better way to look forward to the brighter days ahead then to make plans to head out and about for all the events Downtown has to offer this spring!
Have some tea with some MAD company! On March 6, the George Washington is hosting a Mad Hatter Tea party for kids and adults alike. There will be face painting, character visits and tea of course! You do not want to be late for this very important date! Tickets available here.
Break out your shamrocks and wearing o’the green during the second annual Washington Goes Irish event! Stop by any of the 11 pub crawl locations and pick up a passport to plot out your course for the afternoon! In addition to the pub crawl, various businesses downtown will be serving snacks and non-alcoholic specials throughout the day. Get an authentic Irish Tea experience at Thistledown Boutique, free cookies at Your CBD store or traditional hand pies at Popcorn Willy or The Table. Cast your vote in the Irish Stew Cook off at The Washington Brewing Company from 1-2 and listen to live music from Dee Paddy & Friends from 4-6.
Come mingle at the Historic George Washington Hotel and sample libations from nine local distilleries and wineries. Stop by the hand rolled cigar station and enjoy live music and food. Make it a date night and book a room at the hotel to channel your inner Kennedy! This event is a win-win, as not only do you get to enjoy local craft spirits, but it also benefits the Children’s Hospital!! Tickets available here.
Take a run through Downtown or just sign up for the shorter costume walk with your favorite pooch! Sponsored by Nutrition Fix, all proceeds benefit PetSearch, who will be hosting an adopt a pet event at Firefly Gardens. Scout out your new best friend and see what’s in store for Downtown’s community garden project for this fun wonderfully waggy event! Sign up information will be released in April.
