Mingo Creek Craft Distillers, producers of Liberty Pole Spirits, celebrated the Grand Opening of their new distillery campus on July 15, 2023. Visitors can book a tour of the new campus, which is located near Hollywood Casino at The Meadows and just four miles from the original distillery in downtown Washington. The campus features an incredible tasting room modeled after an 18th century Meetinghouse, a beautiful springhouse bar and visitor center, a state-of-the-art production facility and a 3,600-barrel open air 5-floor traditional wood rickhouse.
In honor of the region’s Whiskey Rebellion heritage, the construction project kicked off with the raising of a Liberty Pole in lieu of a traditional groundbreaking ceremony. The pole raising took place at the new distillery site, adjacent to the Street at the Meadows (800 Adios Drive, Washington, PA 15301) on May 16, 2022.
This expansion will initially nearly triple production capacity from the current location through the addition of a 1,000-gallon mash cooker, four 1,000-gallon fermenters and a 1,000-gallon pot still. The still is supplied by Vendome Copper and Brassworks of Louisville, KY, while the mash cooker, fermenters and process control systems are supplied by Deutsche Beverage Technology of Charlotte, NC. Future production increases can be accomplished as needed by adding additional fermenters up to a projected maximum capacity of 60,000 gallons of whiskey – or more than 1,100 barrels – produced per year.

All whiskey production, aging, and bottling operations has moved from the existing distillery in downtown Washington to the new distillery campus in 2023. To bring this vision to life, Liberty Pole Spirits partnered with architectural firm Lab|8 Designs and general contractor BEAR-IC.
Financing for the project included a combination of a capital raise, an RACP grant through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and bank financing through Washington Financial and the Small Business Administration.
