A beloved end-of-summer tradition in West Alexander and beyond, the West Alexander Fair is a whole week of classic family fair fun. Attendees will enjoy agricultural and livestock exhibits, rides and games, tractor and truck pulls, antique machinery, chainsaw carving, demolition derby, and other live entertainment in addition to tons and tons of fair food and games.

Four Chord Music Festival

Four Chord Music Festival die-hards will delight to know that Four Chord 11 has the fest returning to EQT Park, home of the Washington Wild Things! This 2-day punk-pop music festival has been a fan favorite for over ten years, and with acts like Blink-182, Jimmy Eat World, AFI, Jawbreaker and Alkaline Trio (among others) on the lineup, it's no wonder many fans have already snatched up tickets for this year's event. From bratwurst to beer steins, the Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest is set to bring a little slice of Germany straight to downtown Canonsburg. Named one of the best Oktoberfests in the nation by USA Today, this annual festival attracts up to 50,000 lovers of all things German over the course of three days.

With plenty of both German and American cuisine and an assortment of beers to choose from in addition to games, carnival rides, kids’ activities and live music throughout the course of the festival, the Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest is a fall must-do.

EQT Washington & Greene Counties' Covered Bridge Festival

Regarded as the official start to fall, the EQT Washington & Greene Counties’ Covered Bridges Festival features 9 charming and scenic festival sites to explore over the course of a beautiful September weekend.

 Celebrate the rich heritage of the region’s historic covered bridges – with each being unique in their own way – while shopping from local craft and artisan vendors, sampling homestyle food & beverages and enjoying various historical re-enactments, crafting demonstrations and live entertainment. Bulls, Bands & BBQ

Here's a new one - Little A Town Arena in Avella is gearing up for its third event of the season: Bulls, Bands & BBQ, a wild night where heart-pumping bull riding is set to collide with live country music and good-old-fashioned BBQ. 

The night's entertainment opens with award-winning country artist Nathan King and Alabama native Justin Jeansonne before country music star Whey Jennings (yes, grandson of Waylon Jennings) lights up the stage. Following the music is an epic evening of bull riding, plus some of the best BBQ trucks in the area, vendors and tons of cold beverages. Attendees are advised to bring a lawn chair or blanket, as bleacher seating is limited, so be sure to get to the venue early when it opens at 3:35 p.m.

Washington Italian Festival

When the moon hits your eyes like a big pizza pie, you simply must be at the Washington Italian Festival. Now in its 9th year, this festival celebrates all things Italian, with food, music, crafts, beverages, games and more all being at the center of this community celebration at the Community Pavilion in downtown Washington. Eat and drink your way through this festival while shopping local products like olive oil, pasta, sauces, jewelry, honey, baked goods and more.
