Nothing feels more like summer than listening to live music on the water. If spending time with friends, singing along to your favorite songs while you feel the breeze of the river is your thing, you will want to put the Rockin’ on the Mon RiverFest at the Monongahela Aquatorium on your 2024 bucket list.  A venue like no other in the region, the Noble J. Dick Monongahela Aquatorium is an outdoor amphitheater located right on the banks of the Monongahela River.

With bleacher seating for 3,700 guests, additional space for approximately 1,300 camping chairs, and an L-dock so boaters can dock their boats concert side and enjoy the festivities, the Monongahela Aquatorium is the focal point of summer fun in the Mon Valley.

The Rockin' on the Mon 2024 concert season will kick off on June 21st and 22nd with the first ever RiverFest presented by the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency.  This two-day, family friendly festival will showcase an exceptional lineup of bands, food trucks and hopefully summer sunshine.  DJ A.J. Fresh will keep the entertainment going between acts and you can challenge your friends to a round of corn hole or one of the other yard games that will be available on the festival grounds.

Cash admission at the gate is $10 each day. Cash is strongly encouraged throughout the venue. All guests over 21 years of age who are interested in purchasing/consuming alcoholic beverages will need to show ID and get a RED BAND before approaching beverage booths. Boaters are welcome. Donations are highly suggested. Entrance bands are provided with donations and will be needed to enter the park. The event is rain or shine. No refunds will be issued. Purchase tickets for Friday online here. Purchase tickets for Saturday online here.

6:30PM - GENE THE WEREWOLF

Gene the Werewolf

Gene the Werewolf has never paid attention to trends. Nor has the Pittsburgh-based sextet been part of a scene or the hipster's band of choice. They are iconoclasts by virtue of their music, rock 'n' roll survivors in thrall to the genre's power and energy. And they're damn good at it, even if they are a dying breed. "It's strange to feel like you are one of the last of your own kind," says Jon Belan, the band's dynamic front-man and lead singer. The band, formed in 2007, is comprised of 6 native Pittsburghers. With self-released albums "Light Me Up" and "Wicked Love" under their belts, as well as 2012's worldwide release of "Rock 'n' Roll Animal" on Frontiers Records (Italy), followed by 2016's self-released "The Loner", GTW’s efforts have produced (5) singles on one of the nation's most prestigious rock radio dials, 102.5 WDVE-FM, including 2022's one-off single "Dying Breed".
