Pickleball tournaments have come a long way over the last few years and the Washington Park Pickleball Club—in partnership with Washington Park and the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency—have been able to step it up a notch or two with a great two-day pickleball tournament and a reception at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. You won't want to miss the reception as we will be giving away pickleball gear including some top-of-the-line paddles from well-known pickleball manufacturers.

The WPPC is proud to host the 2024 Washington Park Spring Classic on May 18, 2024. * Rain Date: May 19, 2024 *
The one day event shall include Women's, Mixed, and Men's Round Robin by Skill & age by skill levels. Event organizers will strive to build smaller competetive brackets to give the players the best possible player experience. Player round robins will be assigned to designated courts to play the full round robin.

The TDs goal is to provide a good experience for all tournament players who choose to participate in the WPPC Spring Classic.

TDs may consider player play and win history and move players up or down in order to create competitive, age based brackets.

TDs expect players to play competitively with grace and respect. There will be a zero tolerance approach towards aggressive or demeaning behavior. Players found to be acting in a way that is demeaning or disrespectful to the game or their opponents shall be disqualified and asked to immediately leave the premises.

The tournament will follow current USAPA rules.

USAPA officials will be on site and may officiate select matches. A head official will be available to ask questions or should an issue arise.

The tournament ball of choice is the Franklin X 40.

The court surface is traditional tennis consisting of 4 permanent pickleball courts and 13 pickleball courts lined on tennis courts. Approximately 8 courts will have temporary nets, 4 courts permanent nets,and 4 courts heavy duty roller nets.

Spectators are not allowed on courts at any time during the event but may watch from the outside fence area. The benefit of assigned courts mean less movement for players and those watching.

Food is available on site at the Washington Park Pool Concession stand. Players may also bring food and drink.
